Gotta Start Somewhere

When Ava and I decided to move to California we didn't really know why, but we both felt called to go. It seemed to both of us we had hit some sort of upper limit for growth and success in Colorado and neither one of us was anywhere near content. We also figured...

Why not?

We had a successful season at our paddle board shop in Evergreen,  and our apartment lease was up at the end of September. We had nothing hard to tie us down. We were both open to new possibilities and opportunities. We wanted to see what life would be like if instead of pre-planning all of the moves, we let the wind take us where it thought we needed to go.

The Master Plan

Our plan is to road trip our way through the southwest alongside the Colorado River, paddle boarding every chance we get, eventually landing us in Encinitas, California. We have a general idea of places we want to see but we are not set on any place or really any timeline.

We are scared shit-less!

That's the beauty we see in it. The more scared we are, the more able we are to be open and grow as we face the fear head on. So with that, we packed our must-haves into small bags, one for each area of the home. Everything that we didn't absolutely love, or really need to survive, we sold. We tied up loose ends in Colorado, packed up our Subaru and...

On Saturday, October 4, 2014, we hit the road. I-70 West, to be precise.

We are in search of fulfillment.

We seek to explore new opportunities and share our experiences with others. We aren't exactly sure where this is going to take us, we just know that we have to do it. Putting this trip to the 10-year test (if in 10 years we haven't done this, will we regret it?), it's a hands down must for both of us.

We are entrepreneurs in our late twenties. We are in the process of laying the foundation for the lives that we want - rich, fulfilling and unique to us and what we desire. We have each other, two paddle boards, a paddle boarding dog (Freckles)
, and a handful of pretty well thought out business ideas. The way we see it, we have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

We do know a few things for sure.

We know that fulfillment and happiness come from within, but sometimes you have to shake things up to get yourself in a place where you can access them.
We know that while there are things we'd love to see come into reality, we aren't attached to a specified outcome, and this practice of letting go allows the creative forces within us to work a lot faster and produce greater results.
We know that since what we seek is fulfillment through growth not comfort, everything will be taken care of along the way.

Here's to our adventure!
